NTOTA Provides Additional Anti-Poaching Funding
NTOTA is always glad to help fund the Anti-Poaching Unit of FCD. This is a group of FCD Rangers who regularly patrol the tens of thousands of acres of the Chiquibul National Park, protecting the forest, plants and wildlife.
.
This particular group of Rangers creates a presence immediately around the nesting area of the Scarlet Macaws of Belize. The presence of the Rangers and community volunteers discourages the poaching of baby Scarlet Macaws to be illegally sold into the pet trade, and whenever possible rescues baby Scarlet Macaws that have been poached.
